The youngest of six siblings, the author's mother sold home-cooked goodies to make ends meet while their father worked as a seaman. Despite financial struggles, they were able to attend exclusive schools with the help of relatives and excelled in academics and sports, earning scholarships. All siblings obtained degrees and are now successful and stable.

The author is grateful for the values they learned, such as faith in God, discipline, perseverance, humility, and determination, which allowed them to achieve their dreams despite financial challenges.
